There isnt a whole lot to say about Proenza this season other than it was fucking amazing. It was lady like, in that "Proenza Schouler way" if you have seen Jack and Lazaro's work you know exactly what I mean. I don't wanna say that the collection was futuristic, more like a new elegance? Mixed with a bit of 90s Nu-Rave and a dash of hippie boho vibes....

Will Jack and Lazaro ever stop ceasing to amaze me? At the rate they're going I'm going to have to say no.
Season after season, it's something different yet very identifiably Proenza....As I stated above that "Proenza way" of designing, there just so dynamic. This season was, I feel anyway really inclusive as well. Anyone could find something in this collection, there wasn't one specific print or silhouette there is clearly a lot of variety, but its still a very cohesive and put together collection.

OK yeah I will admit I have had a lot of free time on my hands lately....Clearly this post shows just how much I really have, that or I think about the shows I used to watch in the 90s when I was just wee....Anyways, am I alone here or does anyone else not agree with the amazing style from cartoon characters back when.

For example:
Bree from "The Weekenders" (Left). Note the moto jacket, high waisted red skirt or colour blocked dress I'm not really sure...Bleached hair choker etc....It's as if she bought her whole outift at opening ceremony, no? Don't pretend you don't like what shes wearing either.

Judy, Doug's older sister from the self titles show "Doug". Look at her, head shaved at the sides to maximize the look of the bangs. What appears to be a knitted bubble dress, complete with black stockings and a tight black undershirt. Minus the beret shes practically the quintessential 90s artsy alterna-girl.

Clearly I'm going to save the best for last, Daria&Jane...Obviously from "Daria" the epitome of 90s alterna-girl cartoon style....Need I say more?

Yes, when things started to all run together in a bleak, boring way Ricardo Tisci saves the day. This season at Givenchy was all about sexy....In a pagan kind of way via leopard prints, leather, paneling and sheer chiffon. I think its safe to say buyers went insane this season over the leopard prints. They were totally commercially viable, and not in a bad way, I can totally picture them being worn in so many different ways sexed up, gothed out, anythang reeeeaaally.

Note also the soundtrack during the collection: Salem-King Night.....Thank you Ricardo I am officially obsessed.

MARC JACOBS/LOUIS VUITTON SS 11

So this season Marc Jacobs, clearly was feeling a little 70's....and I was feeling a little bit of deja vu, mostly on the part of Marc Jacobs own signature line. All I have to say about that is Tom Ford for Yves Saint Laurent Yes I am aware of the apparent inspiration by the film "Taxi Driver", most of it to me at least felt more Tom Ford YSL than anything else. Obviously aside from the hats that is.

I really want to love all of your collections Marc, but I just cant this is too much. Especially going from last seasons minimal wonderland, to this 70s tacky catastrophe. Jesus Christ please never again Marc....UGH can these prints not...I just cant even...seriously?

You're all probably shitting yourselves over this because it's "Marc Jacobs" ...and for some reason maybe some of you actually like this, but lets be real people what in the fuck is this tacky shit....Seriously, No.

I'm not going to completely hate on all of this though, because there are individual pieces I was fond of. I.E. Baby dolly wrap and this little wrap number.

So onto Louis Vuitton....What I loved I really loved and what I hated I really really hated. Being the giant hypocrite that I am, what I criticized Marc for doing at Marc Jacobs I for the most part loved him for doing here.

Most of the tacky prints at Louis Vuitton were just so right, here for the most part he presented being tacky in a good way I just can't get enough. But when they were bad, they were really really bad. I mean seriously can we not with the monogram lace, what was all of that. Basically all the criticism I had for Marc Jacobs at Marc Jacobs I have for his collection here at Louis Vuitton.

So what I did like first of all were most of the chinese suits/dress etc. I'm a sucker for a good chinese suit, mmmm. Although I did hate a lot of them especially the ones that used of color blocking. Though there was a lot of bad color blocking there was also a lot of really really good color blocking....That goes for the use of tassels and fringe as well...

What really got me though were the floral and animal printed dresses/suits. The fit's and silhouettes of the dresses, were all extremely sexy, it was obviously not subtle at all, but in a good not sleazy way. They just kind of worked, perfectly....Not only in the dresses but most everything in the collection the one thing everything had in common were an amazing fit.

This collection was a sensory overload but, it was a nice change from the extreme over use of minimalism. So Marc for that I salute you.

I've been lazy and haven't gotten around to posting about this yet, or anything else for that matter. Bear with me though I am going to stop procrastinating and I'm going to get too it. I digress......

This season Raf Simons brought a new minimalism volume, volume and some more volume with couture like proportions, and a seemingly Yves Saint Laurent influenced color palette, and on that note military jackets as well.

I for one am loving all of this...With all the digital floral prints, stripes, volume, and textures. The collection is almost maximal, but in a minimal way? if that makes sense....Not to mention the cut's/tailoring. I know it's really easy to say the cuts and tailoring blah blah were sooooo amaaaaaaazing, but I mean seriously look at the oversized jackets, and obviously the suits....

And of course the more "wearable" pieces in the collection....Still I dont really understand why anyone wouldn't want extreme couture like volume incorporated into there wardrobe....

Also take note of the amazing textures shown..............

Sara Burton for Alexander Mcqueen

I have been anticipating this for some time now as I'm sure many of you have...
It obviously isn't and wont ever be the same with out Lee designing at McQueen but I think it's safe to say Sara Burton has proved herself as the best suited designer for the label.

This season almost read like a McQueen greatest hits collection, which is to be expected considering the events that lead to her becoming creative director at Alexander McQueen. It's pretty obvious and would be foolish to think that the Gucci group or Sara Burton would want to take the label in a completely new direction. On that note the only thing like that I could see happening is maybe more wearable, commercially viable pieces.

But thankfully now it seems like Sara's come as close as she can for a designer in this situation to take on where Lee left off. It will be interesting to see Sara become more comfortable designing for the label and add more of her own creative vision into the label in future collections. I'm very interested to see where Burton will take Alexander McQueen. I'm very anxious to see what the results will be once she starts putting more of herself into the label...

All that aside....Sara Burton said she would like to add a more feminine, tender qualities to the designs for the label. Said qualities are defiantly very apparent here. Such a beautiful homage to McQueen, I'm really loving everything in the collection. Being that it clearly was an homage, referenced by past collections I don't feel like there is really a lot to say about it. I really cannot wait though to see Sara Burton creative vision be more apparent in the future.

Before moving on to the rest of NY/Milan/Paris woman's wear I thought I'd revisit some menswear collections I failed to mention....

Antonio Azzuolo

At first glance it can appear to be a bit to much to take in it once, but once you set aside the styling and look at each individual piece it becomes quite simple; Basic color blocking(which I loved BTW), basic stripes, just with a lot of bold coloring which I really really liked by the way. Also really liking the pantaloon short things, quite a bit more fitted then Yohji's this season obviously....A more wearable version, that is if you consider pantaloon like pants wearable...

Not really sure how to feel about the boxy 80's power suit blazers...But thats OK because I really liked this collection, and there really isnt a whole lot to say about it other than it had really amazing cuts, really great tailoring and a fantastically bold color palette which gave me the warmest of warm feelings inside...Not to mention those shoes ughhh give me...

Patrik Evrell

At first I was kind of mehh towards this, but the more I look at it the more love flows from the computer screen into my heart...The T-shirt sweater over button up combo is basically what won me over. I will admit it has a lot of the annoying design tendancies I tend to pick out, but being the hypocrit that I am, I'm willing to overlook them. Mostly becase of the sweaters and shooz, but also because the shirts and shorts etc look really well cut and seem like they would be nice to wear.

But I'm not going to overlook the awkwardness of the jackets, so weirdly fitted. I am not really huge fan of over sized ill fitted jackets, so I may be bias to this I dont know. But I just really hate them, they would make you look like a huge box. But most all the suits and well most everything were really clean cut looking , minimal and just really really nice to look at it.

I'm not exactly sure what was going on at Prada. I get that Miuccia was going against the whole minimal resurgence, but then again I don't get it...Scrub dresses...I can't even...Seriously what is going on here. I cant say I'm surprised the menswear and cruise collections kind of foretold this...What ever "this" is exactly. Well I like the concept behind this, but the way it was delivered was uhhh just a little much...

Normally I wouldn't question you Miuccia, but once again what is all of this?!?! I wan't to love it I do, I wish I could be all "OMG I LUV PRADAZ DEZIGN STATEMENT TOWARDS THIS NEW MINAMALISM". But as you can tell I do not...Its not even just the prints or the awkwardly cut over-sized shoulder's etc...Basically all the fabric looks really cheap and like it was sewn out of extremely uncomfortable fabrics from fabric land or something. The prints, seriously, what the fuck bananas? Cherubs? Next time you're having a weird tropical themed acid flash back Miuccia, maybe try to do it away from your design board....Just sayin...

Miuccia obviously didn't completely steer away from minimalism ending the collection with some nice and simple black dresses (Which I also hated), I'm assuming these are to help you come down from the ~~eyesore~~ sensory overload that was the rest of the collection.

These shoes would be great if it wasn't for that weird platform, it reminds me of those shoes old people wear when one of there legs is longer than the other one....Seriously though what was the point of adding that I will never understand some of the things you do Miuccia.

But these shoe's were unbeweavable if I do say so myself ^

This is probably the most wearable collection from Rodarte ever. I'm loving the 70s/earthy vibes wood prints etc. Most of the collection kind of reminds me of if a basement bar/den from the 70s was transformed into a collection mixed with like futuristic hippie earth vibes...I know...Anyways, I'm really glad they chose to shed the use of draping in favor of a more refined, cut focused collection. I'm so happy this season didn't look like a bunch of bed sheets draped over one another for once..yay, and they also didn't go for any knitting either...Yes! could it be the end of multiple layers and overdone knits from Rodarte. Also I actually really liked the laser cut leather pants, jackets, everything as unflattering as they all may be.

The collection was all over the map as usual. It was inspired by red woods, shit in there back yard when they were growing up etc...So where did the reference to the Asian vase dresses come from exactly? Which I didn't really care for that much, but I did like the color palette..I didn't really care for most of the dresses actually, but the great cuts on everything else made up for the horribly awkward layered dresses and what have you. I don't really get the point of the underskirt nonsense on the dresses, they just felt unnecessary. The dresses would have been better off without, but I guess those quirks are what makes Rodarte, Rodarte and I would probably be complaining that the collection didn't feel like Rodarte without such things. I'm guessing the new design approach is accompanied by the rumored LVMH aquirement of Rodarte, which I hope brings more new and less knitting, layering.

The past few days have been interesting, Daniel Silver of Duckie Brown emailed me saying he and Steven Cox like my blog and stuff, so we emailed back and forth for a little while. I had some questions I wanted to ask so they suggested I call them. Before doing that I tried to think of a bunch of Pulitzer prize worthy questions to ask. So I watched a bunch of Jeanie Becker Interviews etc thinking that would somehow make me a professional journalist.

Ok so I call them and being the nervous spazz that I am, I forget basically everything I was going to ask say....Also while in my nervous haze I didn't write anything they said down or anything so I am officially the worst interviewer ever...I did manage to retain most of what was said...it went something like this:

"What was your inspiration for the collection?' They don't have any specific inspiration; , they are inspired by everything. They dont sit and make mood boards or watch films etc...For instance this collection evolved around a white T-shirt. They play around with a print or silhouette(I kind of had the idea that most designers woke up in a dream like state like Karl Lagerfeld and just started drawing stuff, or like watched a Sofia Coppola or Wes Anderson movie and all of a sudden got inspired)

"Is designing for a label other then your own something you would like to do in the future,or a collaboration an H & M sort of thing?" Yes they would love to design for a fashion house...as far as the collaboration they would love to do an H&M type thing, and have already collaborated on a line of shoes with Florsheim.

"How about relationships with other designers..is there any animosity, do you get together?"They don't sit around and brain storm or design together.. lol obvs...But they see each other at CFDA events. No there is no animosity.

"what is like designing with a partner as apposed to designing alone?" Daniel silver has never really designed on his own ..although he used to design gloves by himself and then from there he became a tv producer which taught him how to bring people together.Steven went to school so he has designed for himself before, but....
Duckie Brown wouldn't be Duckie Brown with out the partner aspect so they can't imagine it any other way.

"Where do you guys see youself in 10 years"..Duckie brown lives in the now.

"Are there any shows they look forward to other then their own" Yes Comme des Garcons, Vivienne Westwood, Yohji Yamamoto, Alexander McQueen, John Galliano etc. They tend to look at women's wear labels more, and as far as menswear go's they like Patrick Evrell, Thom Browne etc.

"What would be the your signature piece be, Burberry has the trench coat, what is yours?" a drop crotch pant, or a two button blazer.

"How would you describe the Duckie Brown man?" Duckie Brown is all inclusive, there isn't a "Duckie Brown man" from hipsters to business men Duckie Brown is for anyone and everyone

Duckie Brown SS 11

Its really refreshing to see a design team like Daniel Silver and Steven Cox bring some pizazz into a normally repetitive NYFW. Season after season the guys at Duckie Brown never fail to impress, with there bold use of prints and color constantly bringing something new and fun into the sea of blank faces and the almost cloned suites that is the majority of NYFW. Not only that but they are definitely not a one trick pony either always adding some more minimal/conservative pieces into each collection this season that came in the form of greatly cut suits and jackets.

OK this season at Duckie Brown was madness per usual, plaids, beetles, leopard print basically any print you could ever want, I feel like a kid in a fashionably candy store that only sells amazingly crazy printed clothing. I mean seriously those beetle printed button ups, I literally died. Another piece to ad the collection of "my life will be an empty void without"...Anyways some seriously great layering pieces as well this season ranging from sheers, to asymmetrically buttoned cardigans to cropped buttons ups.

I'm all for a great pair of sweats and I'm also all for a drop crotch, so when the two meet I'm all kinds of excited. AND THE CARDIGANS omg seriously I cant get enough. The asymmetrical cuts that when unbuttoned I'm guessing will do some great draping. BTW pants I did not forget about you. This is the exact cut I tend to go for in a cropped pant, relaxed but not to baggy, straight legged but not overly tight, and once again the prints especially with that blue and white pair, they looked like they had been water colored or something...Not to mention hounds tooth pair, *drool*. I think this has replaced FW 07 as my favorite Duckie Brown collection.

Francisco Costa shows the rest of the fashion world with it's resurgence back into minalism how its really done, with an extremely confident self assured collection. There's also very romantic feel to it obviously not in your typical Valentino, John Galliano way...But in a more subtle almost futuristic 2001 space odyssey sense.

Best New York collection by far. Season after season of architectural minimalism I'm never ceased to be amazed....My feeling are best described by a performance art piece by Yoko Ono:

NY menswear

For the most part I feel like there isn't really a lot to say about the menswear collections this NYFW, I mean yeah some were nice but I feel like most every collection I would just be saying the same thing about each one. There were obviously individual pieces from each collection that stood out but still....It would be nice to have seen something different, a little less of the same repetitive general look.

I would really like to see a lot less of suites with the exact same cut, the exact same cropped pants, the same plaid button up, the same shoes and those fucking jump suits etc ....Dont get me wrong I do like a cropped pant from time to time but is it really that hard to come up with something other than that. At least Duckie Brown changed it up a bit and added some prints, and color....Ugh it would just be nice to see the majority of New York designers do something fucking different for once. It just looked like one long never ending collection...It's really starting to make me wish this "trend" would die all together.

Anyways, some from that slew stood out more than others, and some I just felt like writing about regardless...

Rag&Bone
I'm not really sure what to think of this...A lot of looks/pieces are really ghetto looking, mostly the pants and . Also I'm not really what they were going for with those middle eastern looking shirt dress things. This had an uncomfortable amount of denim, a denim poncho? Really? I had high hopes for Rag&Bone, but this whole collection just just left me disappointed. Last seasons camo was better than this...Amongst the slew of too baggy jeans and awkward train engineer looks I did like the sweaters, cardigans, blazers, and some of the boots. I guess I was somewhat won over by that... I will say it was a nice change from the sea of "contemporary menswear designs" aka cropped pant suites, worker boots etc, you know the look....

3.1 Phillip Lim
YSL inspired safari jackets and minimalism this season at Lim. Not my favorite collection , but I loved it none the less. I don't know that I would call Phillip Lims design aesthetic "minimal", but this season he took an almost complete minimal approach, obviously minus the paisley print sequins... etc. Which I was a little confused by I mean sequins really? I'm just going to ignore that part. Anyways I'm really feeling the use of brown leather here although the shirts looked a little Pheobe Philo inspired...Its alright though, I love them all the same. But the best part of all were the suites, well cut and styled amazingly, I don't think its possible to look bad in a suite with that well of a fit and cut.

N.Hoolywood
I'm kind of obsessed with the whole aesthetic of this collection right now well dressed convicts from the 20's/30's were at N.Hoolywood this season. Perfectly awkward boxy fits, and I'm all for the "designer sweat pants trend" so seeing them here added to it, not to mention those striped pants..

Timo Weiland
This season Timo Weiland and Alan Eckstan played around with classic menswear by adding pops of color, prints and contrast. Like I've stated before it's the small details that make a collection, and this is a case and point example. Without the contrasting colors and prints, the plaid waist lines cuffs, and great socks, this collection would just be another bland collection like those I stated above..

RAD by Rad hourani.
I liked and would wear almost everything in this collection, but I'm still underwhelmed and a little disappointed. I don't really know what direction Rad Hourani is trying to take the uni-sex defusion line in, because it was the same thing he's done time and time again, some draping, leather pants and a bit of paneling. I would really like to see some progression, something? Anything? I'm getting bored. I would really just like to see it take on an entity of it's own, like other defusion lines have done (Miu Miu, Marc by Marc, Y-3 etc). Why even have a show if its just going to remain a "simplified" version of the main line. Stick to presentations, when see a show you expect progression.

Finally a menswear collection from Christopher Kane... I was kind hoping for some space printed pants and jackets, a wee bit more cray cray...Seriously Christopher space printed moto jackets would have been magical, I could have loved them.....

I'm just being insatiable, because I truly do love this, especially that cardigan and green T-shirt. I really don't think I've ever felt that way about a T-shirt before, not to mention the leather shorts. I neeeeeeed something from this collection so fucking bad (mostly a cardigan if anyone out there feels like being generous). I honestly think life will be just an empty void if I don't get my hands on any of this...You will be mine one day soon cardigan and or T-shirt. It is Gods will.

Proenza Schouler & Harmony Korine Present "Act da Fool"
I cant even..... whaaaaat... The mood, the atomosphere, I just love everything about this so fucking much, seriously....I think its best described by the designers themselves.(see below)

This definitely explains the soundtrack at the show("born 2 be fly"- fly girlz), and shares the story behind the collection which btdubz made me fucking love it even more...Its actually really kind of inspiring. You can totally see the "Kids" reference that they talked about in the video below, or at least I did anyway. Subtle as it was aside from Harmony Korines style of filming. Though it seemed more like "Gummo" than "kids" to me....

I wish more designers would share the story behind there collections like this. I feel like most people when they see a collection they just see the clothes and/or the superficial aspect of fashion, and don't see the story or inspiration behind it. I think things like this show that there is depth to fashion and that its not just a dress or a pair of pants but there can be a story or a great deal of inspiration and thought behind them. Fashion really can have a great deal of depth and emotion at times and isn't just something superficial (I feel that way at least). I think things like this show that to some people who probably would have thought other wise..... WATCH NOW AND FEEL THE MAGIC.

Beautiful, magical, and water proof...What more could you possibly ask for in a collection.

This collection looking back now, is almost surprisingly minimal for Junya, But as always he adds a certain certain level of subversion , that sets himself apart from other designers. This collection Blended functional and futuristic, with reversible dresses, plastic covered water proof skirts/dresses, and those insane head pieces...Some of which turned into a dress or skirt, not to mention those plastic ones that reminded me of atoms. Junya Watanabe head pieces are so amazingly perfect, seriously Phillip who?

To me a lot of the suites and dresses looked more alien than futuristic especially those cocoon like wraps?, definitely a lot more subtle than Mcqueen, but still very apparent. There were some not so subtle Hitchcock vibes going on here (at least not to me) I love how he reinterpreted the 60s style dresses towards the end of the collection with a more futuristic shape/cut, updating them if you will.

This is by far my favorite collection by Junya, this collection is explains why is work is amazing. There's a level of depth to it, along with a kind of auto ironic presence and innate design, that is incomparable with most other designers.

Fuck you Christopher Bailey for making this jacket so expensive. 5000$ you could probably have someone killed for that. Although if I had 5000$ to spend right now I would probably opt for the jacket. It's just so perfect in every sense of the word, its basically been on my mind for the past 7 months.....

I actually tried it on and then found out the depths of my insanity when I lied about my name and put it on hold for a week just encase I somehow got the money to buy it....Don't judge me...It was either that or making a mad dash out of the store with it on....There is still a large part of me that regrets not doing that, but I was wearing weird sandals and probably would have fell and gotten arrested....I feel like I made the right choice.

So I'm definitely feeling a heavy Rick Owens/rad hourani influence here(toned down version almost) with a subtle Christopher Bailey mixed with Gareth Pugh vibes...BUT that doesn't mean I didn't like it, cuzzzzz I defiantly did...This collection has alot of pieces that are perfect for some serious layering, I mean just look at those sheer t-shirts, drapey cardigans, textured tanks and chain linked mesh?..casual....I'm normally defiantly not a vest person, I actually really kind of have a strong hatred towards them most of the time, but I actually am really liking these...Loving some even? The most perfect part of all were the pants, I know I tend to go for the pants erialot, but this time I really mean it when I say that I love these....I have been searching for pants with a carrot/exaggerated fit like these for quite some time now....Please David bestow a pair of these beauties upon me.

The cuts on some of the jackets were kind of awkward, I mean seriously cropped jackets wtf? I'm not really sure if they were going for a more deconstructed look I get what they re trying to do but really? That go's for the ripped leggings/socks as well, they just reminded me of a 13 year old girl trying to be goth for the first time, it left me feeling a little uneasy, and I feel like it really took away from the whole look of the collection, I was left wondering why they had included them at all....On a side note I apologize for that one models face and actions walking down the run way (you know what one) did they include crystal meth in some of the gift bags or something? ..........ANYWAYS all that aside, I really did like the collection more than not, and would really love to incorporate alot of the pieces into my wardrobe..

I'm not sure what exactly my problem was but kenzo seemed to have completely slipped my mind this season, and now that I see this I am reminded once again why I need to slip into debt by buying a 2000$ khaki suite.

Jail stripes, water color prints, perfectly belted sandals what more could you ask for in a collection? Everythings so 1950's French, mixed with a bit of Japanese. You really cant go wrong with a Kenzo suit they're so fucking perfect, and so timeless buying one is going to be one of my top priorities for next season...obviously....I really dont think life would be worth living without a water color Kenzo suit, or a khaki one..what ever one go's on sale first.

In this edit we see the effects of the BP oil spill told in a story told by Steven Miesel, featuring none other than Kristen Mcmenamy playing the part of a dying animal bird? clad in from what I can tell is Ann Demuelemeester.

This story speaks tremendously of the environmental crisis that the gulf and its wildlife are currently faced with...Its nice though to get a dose of reality along with the fantasy in fashion. When Miesel references social issues he just gets it so right, I mean seriously these images are so powerful. Might I add that Kristen is such an amazing model you can really see the despair in her face and eyes, she has such intensity, I just cant get over the look in her eyes, its haunting.

Givenchy Haute Couture FW 05

Ricardo Tisci's first collection for the label. Such a beautiful moody, dark, somewhat subversive and vaguely Victorian collection. Impeccable Parisian styling, perfect Gothic vibes.

I love that he didn't take the Audrey Hepburn little black dress route that I think most designers would have done for there first collection for the house and instead went for long chiffon, velvet, and laced dresses. I really appreciate what Ricardo Tisci Has done for Givenchy. I like the fact that he stays cohesive every season, by contiuing to retain certain signature elements (you can see a lot from this collection in this seasons couture presentation), yet he still manages to create something completely different than the season before it.

Originally when I saw the Balenciaga spring collection, I was confused and a little disturbed by the amount of "sportswear" I was witnessing....I was just sitting there thinking "uhm ok Nicholas did you just buy a bunch of linea rossa, put neon colours on it, and then finish it off with a leather belt", obviously I was foolish by not giving the collection a chance.

Now looking at the collection as a whole, I really, really like it...I might even love it. Its the perfect mixture of techinical cuts, futurism, some very loud, but equally great prints, and just the right amount of minimalism in some of the pieces. The cut on those jackets are so good, I'm salivating on my keyboard just staring at that grey moto jacket. I also noticed that he used the same silhouette on some of the sweaters that he did in the women's fw 08 collection, but in a more subtle way. The pants were perfect, perfect straight leg cut, perfect cropping. Most everything was so great, I cant believe I felt the way I did about it. I'm sorry I doubted you Nicholas.

Finally, a move in the right direction, its still not Dior 96-spring 07, but still what a HUGE sigh of relief, I hope that the LVMH group will continue to give John the free reign he once had, instead of stifling his creative genius by forcing him to go back to "the roots" of Dior, maybe they have finally started to realize that its not 1947 anymore, and going back to there roots doesn't necessarily mean recreating pieces from archives(once in a while ok, but EVERY SEASON... no), but pushing fashion in a new direction, like Christian Dior did himself when he was designing for the house( he did create "the new look" and all), Because I feel like that's what the roots of Dior really are; pushing the boundaries of fashion. I think that's what Christian Dior would have wanted for the label, and would be doing today if he were still alive and designing. In my opinion he would have been extremely disappointed by the last few collections, so for those of you reading this, pray to the baby Jesus everynight for Johns free creative reign at Dior, I know I'm going to.

Every season i have something to look forward to with yohji yamamoto, i don't think I've ever really been disappointed by a collection, and this season is no different. I really love the 1800's kind of peasant vibe thats going on here...the buckles on the shoes and hats and stuff, reminded me of like witches/warlocks/lepricons even?....most of all i really like the over sized fits on most everything in the collection...i always like the way he takes a reference but approaches it alot differently than most designers would..

relaxed, cool and minimal, perfect colour blocking. Normally i'm not really a fan of colour blocking, but this season at marni it just seemed so right.I want everything thing in this collection...starting with the suits... thank you Consuelo Castiglioni for giving me something to dream of at night.

There aren't words to describe my ever growing,undying love for lanvin all I could think of is...Amazing, the textures of the fabrics, the almost effortlessness the styling, everything about it is impeccable, as usual.

After 1657765657453543 years of neutral tones and the occasional pop of color...The 90's minimalist raver in Raf(obviously we are on a first name basis by now) finally broke through and leaked onto the drawing board this season at Jil Sander.I really love the digital flower prints on the button ups, alot..probably to much, I really like digital prints...Anyways, another thing that caught my eye was the over sized fits and the layering- jackets over blazers etc etc..

Junya Watanabe

I love when junya goes nautical and he's been doing it since he first started doing menswear-for all of you saying hes jumping on board the "nautical trend". Anyways....junya watanabe jackets always appear to be tailored perfectly and so well made..timeless.Jacket wise with junya I always have something to look forward to season after season. Another thing I really like are those striped pants... I die...I think they are denim..i cant really tell but they remind me of like a train engineer from the 20's or something, and that makes me love them, and the shoes @!@!@@#@$#))#@)$#@ I NEED THEM IN MY LIFE!!!...now...

Alexis Mabille

obviously this collection was extremely androgynous, but I feel like Alexis Mabille goes there without taking it to far(dress at comme). If you take away the styling you're still left with pieces that could be worn in a more masculine way ex: the shirts/jackets mostly, but also some of the more neutral pants (black biege) ..I really feel that this season was a step in the right direction for Mabille, following his previous collection full of horribly awkward cut pants, revolting prints, robes, and quilting?? which,at the time led me to believe the mens line would be over just as soon as it started. Now however I feel like Mabilles in it for the long run.

Punk London 70's 80's vibe...i.e:bleached denim/boots. but with some demure pieces as well i.e.:suit jackets, shorts..cardigans etc, combined with some contrasting accents, leather belt/cardigan mix...its all about the details

Clean cut, and somewhat innovative use of layering...i really like the shorts undershorts/tights under shorts? the subtle, deffintly not overwhelming use of animal print, and the perfectly awkward fit of some of the jackets, especially the tshirty like sweater jackets with the over sized shoulders and what not.

french, french, french,...with a sort of a menswear for women vibe in some of the pieces, i.e. the trousers. some of the pieces screamed hamptons, but was still perfect for anyone really....this collection to me has "mass appeal" written all over it, in a good way. I liked that he added/paired more "street wear" with alot of more elegant pieces in the collection, aswell as pieces that could be either dressed up or dressed down..the hats, the blazers/sprot coats, ect ect....

Jamie Bochert and dancer Jamie Applewhite shot by I&V, in a vibrant blu pink and green kind of tropical setting, it makes me think of cuba/miami or something with all of the bright colours , tan skin, little to no clothing, and the radiant green water(wich reminds me of some sort of magical lagoon lol)..........

Ok so ya vivienne westwood is always one of my favorite collections if not my favortie every season, vivienne cannnot and will not ever do anywrong in my eyes, first off my favorite piece in the collection omg i want it now , it looks kinda like a sgt pepper military jacket in drapey cardigan form, and that black suite with the white and black shirt, i pray every night baby jesus will bless me with a vivienne westwood suite and leave it lying folded neatly and perfectly underneath my pillow for when i wake up in the morning....anyways i think vivienne westwood has the perfect suites , espeically the blazers they are fitted perfectly and arnt too tight and not to baggy which is hard for me to find. back to the cardigans the cardigans this season as basically every season are so perfect!!!! and the pants its still like drop crotchy-ish without like over doing it, and the ties at the weist are my favorite thing about them, there like sailor pants.

so some of the pieces in this collection could be a bit much for some people but paired with other pieces it could look less flashy and out there i guess...say the printed white cardigan if you were to wear that with a black button up, black pants, or white pants and brown oxfords., alot of the pieces were actually quite demure like the blazers, suits, shoes ect... but anyways the prints on some of the pieces in this collection are killing me i love them, espeically on the cardigans, i am dying for the cardigans this season! i'm also crazy about the jackets/blazers.... the fur/leather is so amazing one of my favorite pieces, and the khaki safarie looking jacket was so goooood, paired with the hat it reminds me of indiana jones for obvious reason...the shoes espeically the orange loafers were really posh looking. im loving the accessories the hats and socks, the hats are crazzyyy. the inspiration for this collection was obviously homeless, but the individuals pieces paired down dont look homeless at all it was mostly just the layering and styling and how the collection was presented made them appeare that way, but in like a good super stylish homeless person that wears vivienne westwood kind of way......one of vivinees best collections, loved it!

Also i noticed her kind of refrencing back to some of her older collections, which made me happy seeing as how she re did that one jacket thing i'm obsessed with.

i was browsing through the opening ceremony website and discovered new reasons why i should not have a credit card....omg k this blazer seriously i need it in my life its by patrick ervell....to bad its 1,000$, it would wear it with like a black button up shirt and like white cropped pants with oxford and some like colourful socks, or just with black pants and a black button up, i love you blazer.

k and this patrick ervell shirt with the same print as the blazer i love, i would wear this with a cardigan buttoned up with the shirt buttoned all the way with like grey old pant pants rolled up with white socks or something and like black shoes of somesort.

omg and these doc martens i love them there so 90's i want them on my feet this instant!!!!!!!!!i would wear these with everything

i love these shorts too you could wear them with like anything plain up top, i dont really like mixing prints so i would wear it with like a cardigan and a button up or like a short sleave polo with like doc martens and some sort of coloured socks or something

ok these stephan snider pants remind me of like railway orkers in the 30's /40's i think im going to have to buy them because i feel as though i would be do an injustice to myself if i did not have a pair of pants like these.....

ok i dont care what anyone says just because these are sweatpants it doesnt make them anyless amazing i have been looking for pants like these for ever and you could wear these with anything, like seriously anything,
i would probably wear it with a black blazer and a white tshirt and boots wooo...........
